PCI-MA: What is your most highly specified product for commercial buildings?
Dave Ellis, Director of Sales. We offer a range of products for the commercial sector, but by a large margin, our NawTone-K product is most often specified. It’s our flagship potassium mineral silicate stain for precast concrete and a variety of substrates. By chemically bonding with the substrate, NawTone-K preserves the aesthetic appeal of concrete and doesn’t crack, peel, or fade like a latex coating would. It’s also low VOC and endlessly customizable for a variety of desired final looks.
PCI-MA: Tell us about a recent project that specified one of your products.
Dave Ellis, Director of Sales. Well, recently we collaborated with our friends at Fabcon Precast on a new Walmart location in Yaphank, New York. Much of our work was in blending precast paneling to create a unified finish and leave an even, consistent color throughout. Using powerful mineral stain to permanently unify the color of concrete panels does wonders for its final aesthetic. It’s always exciting to have the opportunity to elevate precast work and accentuate not only its versatility and strength, but its beauty as well. Plus, since we keep an internal log for brand colors, we’re able to quickly mobilize for a variety of brands.
PCI-MA: How long do your products last on architectural precast?
Dave Ellis, Director of Sales. We offer a standard 25-year warranty on most projects–so long as the right conditions are met, such as pH levels, moisture content, cured concrete, etc. This protects the project for a generation. And due to the chemistry behind NawTone-K, the color is never going to peel or chip either, so suffice to say, we offer decades-long solutions for architectural precast.
