I have been with Insteel for nearly 10 years. I started working with the company back in 2012 as an Inside Sales Representative and then took the role of District Sales Manager. I studied Business Administration, completed NPCA PQS1, Leadership PCI and am currently enrolled in PCI Mid-Atlantic Young Professionals. Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, fishing, and relaxing at home with my wife, Hannah, and our 2-year-old puppy, Millie. When college football season starts, we pull for the NC State Wolfpack!
PCI-MA: How do you have fun at work?
Sean: I truly believe that the best results of sales are built on relationships. I’m thankful to be able to have built relationships with customers and their families and getting to know people on personal levels has led to some of the best experiences in my career. Along with building relationships, I very much enjoy solving problems for customers. Being able to experience different parts of the country and meet new people are parts of my job that I truly take pleasure in.
PCI-MA: Tell us about one of your proudest work accomplishments.
Sean: Over the years there have been several accomplishments that stick out in regard to moments I am proud of. I think first and foremost would be the relationships that I’ve built with customers and coworkers. In addition, navigating the various levels within our company, landing a job that was bigger than the previous personal record, moving excess inventories, and always striving to be better are things I take pride in.
PCI-MA: What is one thing you like most about your career in the precast industry?
Sean: The number of products and end uses are endless. Being able to see all the different industries that are served in precast and improvements that have been made over the years is extremely rewarding. Our industry continues to grow and evolve, and I enjoy being a part of something bigger than myself.
PCI-MA: What advice would you give someone just entering the workforce and choosing the right company fit?
Sean: I would tell someone entering the industry to follow your passion. There are many different avenues within this industry, from engineering and design to sales and manufacturing. With so many facets and avenues, there can be a fit for everyone.
