  • Remembering Tim Gainey. Our precast community lost a friend and colleague. Notes Greg Force, Tindall Corporation President and CEO, in his LinkedIn post, “It is with heavy hearts that the Tindall Corporation announces the recent and sudden passing of Tim Gainey, our Corporate Director of Business Development – Commercial. Tim unexpectedly passed in his sleep on the evening of Thursday, September 30th. Those who knew Tim can attest to his kindness, concern, and integrity. When you were speaking with Tim, you got all of him, and he genuinely wanted to know all about you. Tim began his career with Tindall in 1997 as a “swamper,” moving and loading precast components in our Petersburg, VA facility. However, his drive and ambition quickly moved him through the ranks of our Virginia Division as an estimator, project manager, and most recently into his business development role. Many at Tindall count Tim among their most trusted friends and he will be deeply missed.” To read the full post and learn how you can contribute to a scholarship fund for his two sons, please click here.
  • Bringing precast into the classroom (or plant!). Northeast Precast is collaborating with University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design guest lecturer, Richard Garber, in his “Matter, Making, and Testing: Designing with Next Generation Precast Concrete” seminar. The session was standing room only as the students toured the plant, shared their design concepts, and met with their project manager mentors on Saturday, October 2nd. Check out time lapse video in their post from the day’s activities.
  • Shockey Precast’s VP of Engineering, David Orndorff, delivers UD guest lecture. David Orndorff and Dave Jablonsky, ALP Supply, brought their industry expertise into the recently established precast curriculum at the University of Delaware’s Civil and Environmental Engineering program. Delivering on Professor Jovan Tatar Ph.D.’s objectives, students learned the positives about precast, prestressed concrete with David O. and David J. educating them a little on connection considerations to make them better engineers in the future. Thanks to both David’s for paying it forward by sharing their wisdom and experiences with the students!  Check out photos from the guest lecture here.
