PCI Mid-Atlantic Proudly Recognizes 2021 PCI Fellows

June 23, 2021

Two new Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute Fellows with businesses in the Mid-Atlantic region were recently honored at the 2021 PCI Convention and Precast Show, held May 18-22 in New Orleans. This award recognizes individuals who embrace the values of PCI and demonstrate outstanding service to PCI in any functional area, including education, research, design, production, quality, erection, marketing, or management. The candidate must have a minimum of ten years of experience as an active PCI council or committee member, and a PCI organization member or employee in good standing must make the nomination. Fellows can be PCI organization members, associate members, or faculty members of an accredited university—both past or present. Nominees are submitted to the PCI Board of Directors and must receive an affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the board to be named a new fellow.

As a member of the Fire Committee, she was instrumental in developing the first PCI Fire Standard. Her colleagues and peers esteem Mary Ann for her technical expertise as well as her integrity, communication skills, and mentorship of young engineers. PCI is proud to honor Mary Ann Griggas-Smith as a 2021 PCI Fellow for her many contributions to the institute and the greater precast concrete industry.
